UFC 291 – Severe MMA Staff Predictions

The “Baddest Mother Fucker” in the UFC will be crowned for the second time in the novelty belt’s history this weekend when perennial violence merchants Dustin “The Diamond” Gaethje and Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje square off in the main event of UFC 291, which takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Though nothing more than a prop belt in reality, it’s hard to think of two fighters whose fighting styles more aptly lend themselves to such a contest. Limbs will be bludgeoned against other limbs, blood will flow, skill and technique will be at a top level, but ultimately this will be war. If the pair’s first meeting is anything to go by, fans are in for a treat.

In the co-main event, former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz welcomes former middleweight champion, Alex Pereira, to the 205lbs division. Two fighters with wins over current middleweight king Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, the victor is likely to enjoy the spoils of a freshly minted UFC title shot.
