Sources: Conor McGregor to coach next season of The Ultimate Fighter

Sources have confirmed to SevereMMA that Conor McGregor will be coaching the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. McGregor recently posted on Instagram that he had been offered a chance to coach the season, saying “I like it, full immersion is what is needed” and now we have confirmed that is exactly what he will get.

Sources also say that McGregor’s long-time Coach John Kavanagh will work alongside him on the Vegas-based show.

This will be McGregor’s second stint coaching on The Ultimate Fighter. Previously, he went up against Urijah Faber on the 22nd season of the show. That season featured fighters like Artem Lobov, Saul Rogers, Julian Erosa, Billy Quarantillo and Ryan Hall.

McGregor himself last fought on July 10th, 2021 against Dustin Poirier. A doctor stoppage due to a broken leg in that fight has left McGregor out for over a year but he will likely be hoping to return against his yet-to-be-confirmed opposing coach in the house – although that is not always the case, as with the Faber season.

The next season of The Ultimate Fighter will be the 31st season of the show, and with McGregor at the helm – might be the most watched in years.
