Team Ireland ready to take on World Youth Championships

Team Ireland will bring a record setting number of athletes to Abu Dhabi to compete at the IMMAF World Youth Championships which kicks off today.

A team of forty athletes have made the journey to the desert led by head coach 2017 silver medalist Danni McCormack, her husband Alan McCormack and Kieran Davern. The squad size is the largest team that has been put together since the formation of Irish Mixed Martial Arts Association.

Last year, Max Lally picked up a gold medal and Jordan Scully picked up a silver medal with Team Ireland finishing fifth overall on the medals table in the 2021 World Championships. The squad will be looking to improve on that feat this year and have been hard at work since the Irish National Championships with multiple squad sessions going down in preparations for the tournament ahead.

The tournament will be streamed live on IMMAF.tv from August 17-20. For all information regarding the brackets and schedule, visit My Next Match. The list of athletes that have made the trip are listed below.
