Bellator Announce Dublin Show for February 2022

John Kavanagh and Peter Queally appeared on Ireland AM today and announced that Bellator will be returning to Dublin’s 3Arena on February 25, 2022. Pete Carroll first suggested the announcement of the event.

After a massively successful trip to Dublin last November for Bellator 270, the US based promotion is wasting no time in getting back to the Emerald Isle. A huge crowd of 10,931 packed into the 3Arena to see Peter Queally take on Patricky “Pitbull” Freire for the vacant Lightweight Title. “The Jimmy Show” took over the co-main event slot as James Gallagher took on Patchy Mix in a bantamweight showdown.

There was no joy for Queally or Gallagher on the night as they left the arena without the win. All was not lost as both Danni Neilan and Ciaran Clarke kept their unbeaten streaks alive, picking up two finishes in the process. As usual, it was the passionate Irish crowd that took up most of the headlines and they created at atmosphere that will be talked about for years to come. Fans will be able to experience that all over in a little over two months time when Bellator returns, next year, on February 25th.

The main event will be for the Middleweight Title as two-time champion Gegard Mousasi defends his title against Austin Vanderford. Reported by MMA Junkie. The Dutch based champion is coming off a TKO win in his last title defence when he took out John Salter in the third round. Undefeated challenger Vanderford picked up a decision victory over Fabian Edwards in his last outing which booked his ticket to a title shot.

It was also announced that Peter Queally will face Kane Mousah in the co-main event.
