SevereMMA was in attendance for the UFC 261 official weigh-ins at the Omni hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. All 26 fighters that are set to compete in Saturday night’s event were required to weigh in anytime from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. eastern standard time. All 26 fighters were able to make weight before 10:00 a.m.
Our first fighter to the scale was Jorge Masvidal. He weighed in at 170 lbs. Jorge will look to avenge his loss against reigning welterweight champion, KamaruUsman. There was a clear difference in how he looked in his previous weigh-in, in which he had to cut over 20 pounds on six days notice.
ZhangWeili then tipped the scales at 114.5 lbs. She will make the second defense of her strawweight title against former champion RoseNamajunas in a highly anticipated co-main bout.
Jessica Andrade (a former opponent of both Weili and Namjunas) then proceeded to make weight at 124.5 lbs. She will look to add a second world title to her resume when she faces off against the greatest women’s flyweight champion of all time, ValentinaShevchenko.
Rose Namajunas then made our co-main event official weighing in at 114.5 lbs. She will look to regain the strawweight title against China’s first UFC champion, Zhang Weili.
Valentina Shevchenko would tip the scales next, weighing in at 124.5 lbs, making her women’s flyweight title defense against Jessica Andrade official. “Bullet” will look to make the sixth defense of her flyweight title on Saturday night.
Karl Roberson weighed in at 185 lbs. He will face off against Brendan Allen in a middleweight bout.
Jeff Molina weighed in at 126 lbs. He will face off against Aoriqleng in a flyweight bout.
Rongzhu weighed in at 156 lbs. He will face off against Kazula Vargas in a lightweight bout.
Kazula Vargas weighed in at 155 lbs. He will face off against Rongzhu in a lightweight bout.
Kamaru Usman (accompanied by Francis Ngannou) then weighed in at 169.5 lbs to make our main event official. He will look to defeat Jorge Masvidal for the second time in an effort to make his fourth title defense, tying Tyron Woodley and Pat Miletich for third place in all time UFC welterweight title defenses.
Alex Oliveira weighed in at 171 lbs. He will face off against Randy Brown in a featured prelim welterweight bout.
Ariane Carnelossi weighed in at 115 lbs. She will face off against Liang Na in a women’s strawweight bout to open the UFC Fight Pass Prelims.
Pat Sabatini weighed in at 146 lbs. He will face off against Tristan Connelly in a featherweight bout to open the ESPN prelims.
Jimmy Cruteweighed in at 205.5 lbs. He will face off against Anthony Smith in a light-heavyweight bout to open the main card.
Aoriqileng weighed in at 126 lbs. He will face off against Jeff Molina in a flyweight bout.
Dwight Grant weighed in at 170 lbs. He will face off against Stefan Sekulic in a welterweight bout.
Brendan Allen weighed in at 186 lbs. He will face off against Karl Roberson in a middleweight bout.
Tristan Connelly weighed in at 146 lbs. He will face off against Pat Sabatini in a featherweight bout to open the ESPN prelims.
Liang Na initially missed weight at 116.5 lbs, but then returned with the curtain and made weight at 116 lbs. She will face off against Ariane Carnelossi in a strawweight bout to open the UFC Fight Pass Prelims.
Randy Brown weighed in at 171 lbs. He will face off against Alex Oliveira in a featured prelim welterweight bout.
Danaa Batgerel weighed in at 136 lbs. He will face off against Kevin Natividad in a bantamweight bout.
Kevin Natividad weighed in at 135.5 lbs. He will face off against Danaa Bategerel in a bantamweight bout.
Stefan Sekulic weighed in at 171 lbs. He will face off against Dwight Grant in a welterweight bout.
Chris Weidman weighed in at 186 lbs. He will face off against Uriah Hall in a middleweight bout. He was later quoted saying, “That was easy”.
UriahHall weighed in at 185 lbs. He will face off against Chris Weidman in a middleweight bout.
Anthony Smith weighed in at 206 lbs. He will face off against Jimmy Crute in a light-heavyweight bout to open the main card.
