Northern Ireland’s Joe McColgan has slammed Jiu-Jitsu player Dilion Danis regarding his intentions to compete in MMA, and his comments regarding “the SBG Hunter” in an article with the MacLife.

Danis has never competed in MMA competition but believes the FAI fighter is “not even close to his level”. McColgan is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Danis’ teammate Peter Queally at BAMMA 26 in September.

Speaking on this week’s Talking Brawls Podcast McColgan believes Danis is using McGregor to build his profile. The world renowned Jiu-Jitsu practitioner was brought in by Conor McGregor to help in camp for the Nate Diaz fight.

“It was absolutely pathetic. Let’s just paraphrase the rest of his speech. His quotes were basically around him hugging Conor’s nuts, that’s what I took from it. “

McColgan believes recent comments from Danis (from the recent interview with The MacLife) claiming he is “a bum” are not only disrespectful to him, but also to Danis’ teammate Peter Queally who McGolgan defeated at BAMMA 26.

“It’s embarrassing, and for him to address me as a bum after beating his teammate, Peter Queally. It’s disrespectful to me and it’s disrespectful to Peter. “

The Fight Academy Ireland fighter has yet to have a fight announced for the upcoming BAMMA/Bellator co-promotion on Dec.16, but wants on it, and against Danis.

“What grounds does he have to say that I’m not on his level? If this was pure Jiu-Jitsu, yes, I’m not on his level. He’s proven that, but in MMA he hasn’t proven shit. What’s he done? He’s done nothing, he’s trained with Conor McGregor. He could be getting submitted down there, he could be getting lit-up on the feet; he probably is. So, he has no grounds to say I’m not on his level. He’s not on my level in MMA and that’s why he’s not taking the fight.”

BAMMA 29/Bellator 169 card takes place in the 3Arena, Dec. 16th
