MMA stars set for Chael Sonnen’s ‘Submission Underground’ on 17th July

Some big names in the world of MMA will be hitting the mat on July 17 at the Roseland Ballroom in Portland, Oregon as Chael Sonnen’s “Submission Underground” has its first outing. The event will stream live on FloCombat. MMAFighting broke the story on Tuesday night.

Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will be headlining the event against MMA veteran Jake Shields. In the co-main, fresh off of his loss to Phil Davis at Bellator last week, King Mohammed Lawal will be going against Brazilian submission ace Vinny Magalhaes.

The rules will be the same as used in the Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) and will take place inside a cage.

While former championship fighters Kenny Florian, Ricco Rodriguez and Jens Pulver will also feature in the summertime soiree with more matches yet to be announced.
