Updated: Conor McGregor tweets he has “decided to retire young”

Conor McGregor posted minutes ago on his Twitter saying “I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s later.”.

It seems unlikely that McGregor will call it a day on his career with a big money rematch lined up for UFC 200 with Nate Diaz set for July.

It could a negotiation tactic or that he has set a time in the not too distant future for retirement or maybe he is just winding everyone up.

Update: Ariel Helwani is now reporting that sources are telling him that this retirement tweet is legitimate

Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor's tweet isn't a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.
