Fedor Emelianenko linked to 1-0 Jaideep Singh for New Year’s Eve return

Nobuyuki Sakakibara’s fledging MMA promotion will officially launch at a press conference on Thursday in Tokyo.

Details of Fedor Emelianenko’s New Year’s Eve opponent are expected to be revealed at the event which should also give us a name of the new promotion which is rumoured to be Samurai FC, although nothing is finalized yet.

Reports today have suggested that Sakakibara is targeting Indian-Japanese kickboxer Jaideep Singh to welcome Fedor back to MMA. The 28 year old Singh has a 40-10 kickboxing record but only a solitary MMA fight, which was a TKO victory over Alireza Tavak in Super Fight League in 2013.

Other fighters linked to the event include Kazushi Sakuraba, Shinya Aoki and Gabrielle Garcia.

The event is expected to air locally on Fuji TV and will be shown on tape delay in America on Spike TV.
