Hugh “The Quiet Man” Brady is confirmed to make his home town fight return when he fights for the vacant Cage Contender Lightweight Title on April 26th at the Kings Hall Complex in Belfast.

Brady will come to the cage to fight for the belt which was recently vacated when reigning Champion and Bellator vet Greg Loughran hung up his gloves and retired at the end of one of Ireland’s longest and most glittering MMA careers.

“The Quite Man” needs no introduction to Belfast fans and holds wins over 2 former Cage Contender champions in Owen Roddy and Martin Begley, the only two losses on his record coming against Dutch standout Ben Boekee and Ireland’s UFC dynamo “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.

John Ferguson, CEO of Cage Contender said

“Brady is a class act! He’s beaten 2 of our champs in the past with a sub over Begley and stoppage over Roddy and he always lays it on the line. Belfast fight fans love Brady…. That’s fight fans, not just MMA fans. He was a top drawer amateur boxer, fought for the Irish team and has fought world champion Bernard Dunne back in the day.”

“I would also like to take a second to wish retiring Champion Greg Loughran best wishes for his future. I can honestly say he was one of the true gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure to work with in this industry. A great fighter and more importantly a great guy”

Update: Hugh Brady’s opponent for the Cage Contender 155lb title will be Michael Doyle
