Oktagon 92 Preview: Fleury Defends v Muradov, Szabová v Pudilová

The annual Oktagon summer party goes down this Saturday in the Czech capital of Prague. The Štvanice tennis stadium will host Oktagon 92, which will see ten fights on deck, including two for OKMMA titles.

Lucia Szabová (11-0) is one of the company’s superstars and a general human highlight reel. The Slovakian is entering her prime and holds both the OKMMA Flyweight and OKMMA Bantamweight championships, and she’ll defend the latter on Saturday for the first time. The 28-year-old has demolished her last three opponents, and is extremely dangerous in all facets of the sport. The “Silent Killer” comes from a Muay Thai and kickboxing background, possessing a meanness in the strike game rarely seen in the women’s divisions. The Bratislava native is a finisher, with five submissions and four knockout wins. She’s got a very dangerous armbar and even finished one bout via Americana. Lucie Pudilová (17-11) is as tough and competitive as they come, and she is an eleven-fight UFC veteran. The Czech is a hard nosed striker who will stay in your face for the duration, always looking to throw her shots. The 32-year-old has competed in pro boxing a lot in recent times, and she’s won six fights in-a-row between that and MMA. The Přibram local is extremely tough, has only been finished once, and has a habit of getting into close decisions. She has no fear in her.

Will Fleury (17-3) is another double champ on the card, carrying the OKMMA Heavyweight and OKMMA Light Heavyweight championships, defending his 205lb strap. The Irishman has annihilated Martin Buday and Kasim Aras in his last two bouts, showing a killer instinct and very dangerous power in both his hands. The Tipperary man is as strong as an ox, with the ability to bully you in the cage and when he gets you down, it’s very difficult to get back up again. The 37-year-old hasn’t tasted defeat in the last six years and has won five by knockout and four by submission. He’s become one of the biggest stars in the promotion’s history. Makhmud Muradov (29-8) is the interim OKMMA Middleweight champion, and he was last seen winning a kickboxing tournament in FAME MMA, beating top strikers Izu Ugonnah and Tomasz Sarara, before winning their kickboxing title against Denis Labryga in March. The Tajiki is a seven-fight UFC veteran and he’s a high level operator. The 36-year-old is known for his heavy hitting striking style, securing eighteen knockouts across a fourteen year career. He was a champion in XFN and is used to fighting on the big stage.

David Kozma (33-15) is a former OKMMA Welterweight champion and one of the more colourful characters in the promotion. The Czech is full of charisma and will walk out to the Baywatch theme and a pink haircut with sunglasses. The 33-year-old is very well rounded and has an impressive wrestling game. Once it hits the mats, he likes to use ground and pound to open up his submission game. On the feet, he loves to do massive damage with his knees, elbows and fists. He’s amassed a huge twenty-one finishes. David Zawada (20-12) competed for the UFC five times, and is also a veteran of KSW and the PFL. The German has a strike first, ask questions later kind of style. The 35-year-old is a heavy puncher with twelve knockout wins. As a backup plan, he’s a slick submission player with an eclectic box of tricks he can use. He likes to finish fights within the distance.

Hafeni Nafuka (12-4) is a young man who has shown great activity since turning pro five years ago. Already on his tenth promotional bout, the Namibian will be keen to show his elite grappling game for us once again. The 22-year-old is very good at sinking in the rear naked choke once it hits the deck, and he’ll use ground and pound to soften you up. The losses on his record were to very tough opposition and he never backs down from a challenge. Tomáš Mudroch (8-2) tasted defeat for the first time in Oktagon last February, and he’s looking to get back onto the horse. The 28-year-old is a great leg lock player, and possesses a very mean heel hook. The Czech is also a flashy kickboxer who carries plenty of threat in his fists, as well as using flying and spinning attacks. His right hand is money.

Jakub Batfalsky (9-2) is one of the hottest Czech prospects on the roster. The Ostrava man has great experience as an amateur across MMA, boxing and Muay Thai. The 23-year-old is mostly known for his striking, most notably a December 2024 knockout over Dominik Toporcer. This will be his seventh promotional walk, and he’s had to dig deep in decisions to pick up victories so far. He’s showing signs of putting it all together and after that, it’s off to the moon. Vojtěch Khol (3-1) is a multiple time IMMAF veteran at amateur level, displaying a great armbar game at that level. The Czech turned pro in June 2024, finishing his debut with a knockout. The Hostinne man picked up his first submission win via guillotine in his last victory in August. He tasted defeat for the first time in December to the talented Hugo Vach, so he’ll be looking to return to winning ways here.

David Hošek (13-8-1) is a KSW veteran and always turns up in tremendous shape. The Czech trains out of Renegade in Prague, and his fights are usually on the fun side. The 33-year-old is the owner of very powerful hands and if he lands clean, it is lights out time. He has eight knockout wins and he’s a very quick starter. It’s rare that he goes beyond the second round. Daniel Schwindt (8-5) is on a two-fight skid, both knockout losses. The German had won three on-the-bounce before then. The 27-year-old is a big fan of ground and pound, making opponents crumble into dust. He’s also got explosive power in his fists, and has one hit stopping capability.

Miroslav Brož (17-4-1) is a KSW veteran who had won five in-a-row before defeat to Christian Eckerlin in May 2024. This is his first appearance since then, and during that spell he had shown a lot of improvements in his striking game. The 38-year-old likes to download the data in the first round and finish things off in the second, winning six before the final bell. He’s tough, he’s rugged and he has heart. He’ll face an opponent known for his finishing ability, but with a weakness in the submission game and a suspect chin.

Jakub Tichota (6-4) is a fighter who showed a lot of promise early on in his career before running aground with four losses on-the-bounce. The Czech returned to winning ways last March with a second round knockout win. The 27-year-old had a lot of amateur experience, the highlight was representing his country at multiple IMMAF championships. The Prague man trains out of Reinders MMA, and his plan A will be to strike where he can use his kickboxing talent. In the submission game, he’s got a beautiful anaconda choke. Firas Daud (5-1) was a hot hand on the GMC scene but was unsuccessful in his Oktagon debut in April, losing a split decision. At amateur level  he was a GAMMA champion, competitor to IMMAF. The German has finished all of his wins to date, mostly with his punches. He likes to hit early in the first and his power has also caused problems in the second round.

Roman Paulus (12-6) is a fifteen-fight Oktagon veteran, with ten victories under their banner. The 26-year-old is a submission specialist and his technique of choice is the rear naked choke. With that move, he’s picked up five wins. The Slovakian has one knockout win, and he is a difficult man to finish. His durability will keep him in it and he’ll be looking for a submission until the final bell. Harun Kurt (6-0) is a promising talent who won his first two promotional bouts. The 30-year-old has a well rounded skill-set and has an attractive kickboxing game. The German has powerful hands and a great kicking game. He’ll hammer the legs, body and will attempt to open up the head for a big finish. He has one submission victory via rear naked choke.

Ivan Klevets (4-3) had a rough start to his pro career, losing three bouts. The Ukrainian has since turned things around with a four-fight win streak in addition to some grappling victories. The Ankos MMA man has a good wrestling game, which he combines with a Muay Thai striking style. It’s been mostly decisions so far with one knockout win. Kevin Enz (6-4) comes in on a two-fight winning run, both outside of the promotion. The German was a national champion at amateur level and showed submission acumen after turning pro. The 27-year-old has shown to be threatening with arm locks, leg locks and the staple holds such as the rear naked. Four of his six wins have been via tapout.
