Decky McAleenan vs. Kieran Lister set for next Cage Warriors Trilogy

Breaking news from Cage Warriors this morning as SevereMMA can exclusively reveal that Ireland’s Decky McAleenan will take on Kieran Lister at the upcoming Cage Warriors Trilogy event. The bout is to take place at lightweight and will feature on the main card of the CW120 show.

McAleenan had the best win and best performance of his career last time out as he made a stunning comeback to defeat Liverpool stalwarth Adam Ventre. The Team Torres man moved to 7-3 with the 6th stoppage of his career and now looks to get towards Cage Warriors title contention. 

“This is another tough opponent for me.” McAleenan told SevereMMA.

“But I’m back to myself now he’s definitely there for the taking.”

“I’m confident that I’ll put him away,” said McAleenan.

With a record of 7-1-1, England’s Kieran Lister is a similarly experienced fighter on the European circuit. After debuting in 2017, Lister went 8 fights without a defeat before losing for the first time in his career to the highly-rated Joe McColgan late last year. With 5 knockout wins on his ledger to date, Lister will be looking to bounce back with a big statement here.

“I’m excited for this fight as I think both our styles make for an exciting scrap.” Lister told SevereMMA.

“I see it going into the later rounds but I’m confident my cardio and skills will hold up and I will get the win on the night.”

“After this win I see myself with the top lightweights in the division and hope to get a title shot in the near future. Fight camp has been great up to now and I can’t wait for it!” Lister said.

Cage Warriors 120 will take place on Thursday March, 18th in London, England’s York Hall. The event will stream for Irish viewers on UFC Fight Pass.
