Up-and-Coming UFC Fighters in 2020

UFC continues to grow and is one of the most explosive sports about today. Now, new fighters are making their impact on the sport. In 2020 there are many great new up-and-coming fighters to look out for. This article highlights some future superstars to look out for in the run up to UFC249, both male and female, to make sure you can follow these stars as they set 2020 ablaze.

Bo Nickal

Bo Nickal (USA) has yet to don the famous UFC MMA gloves in the Octagon, but he is set to make a real impact on the scene. So, his current record is 0 wins 0 losses, also his weight class is still to be announced.

Nickal is a 6’1″ three-time NCAA wrestling champion, and three time Big Ten Champion at Penn State. He has signed with First Round Management and is definitely someone to be watched in 2020. Nickal is also still keeping up his hopes to compete in the Olympics, so you might be seeing much more of him in 2021 too.

Tatiana Suarez

Strawweight fighter Tatiana Suarez (USA) is a force to be reckoned with. Her record is currently 5-0 in UFC. Suarez has a strong background in wrestling, and has competed for the United States and won bronze in two world championships.

Suarez made a real ripple in MMA when she became The Ultimate Fighter 23 winning in the first round. She is undefeated in UFC, and when she returns from her injury you will want to watch out for her explosive power.

Sean O’Malley

Sean O’Malley (USA) is new to UFC with a record of 2-0 and an MMA record of 10-0, he is definitely a person to look out for this year. This bantamweight fighter is known for his personality inside and outside the cage, and has only become more popular since he was last in the ring in 2018 for UFC222.

O’Malley earned his start on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender series after proving himself fighting for Legacy Fighting Alliance. You either love him or hate him – O’Malley will definitely put on a show this year in UFC like he did in UFC248 in March winning in the first round by TKO.

Geoff Neal

Welterweight fighter Geoff Neal (USA) has made a real mark in UFC already, with devastating victories over Frank Camacho and Niko Price. Neal fought only 7 fights as an amateur before being signed to UFC by winning his fight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender series, and has gone from strength to strength.

Neal now holds record of 6-0 over his two years with the company, and is looking to make an impact again in 2020.

Tracy Cortez

A newcomer to UFC but no stranger to MMA, Tracy Cortez(USA) is a force to be watched in 2020 following her debut in October 2019 and winning by unanimous decision, securing her 1-0 record.

Before entering UFC, last year Cortez fought under World Fighting Federation and KOTC as an amateur, doing 3-0 and being signed to Invicta Fighting Championships. She secured her spot in UFC by winning her fight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender, and is looking to make a big splash in 2020.

Maycee Barber

Known as ‘The Future’, Maycee Barber (USA) is a real star to look out for. She is definitely one of the up and coming UFC fighters in 2020. Her record is 3-1 in her flyweight division, Maycee Barber is looking to continue her strong start in UFC and is aiming to become the youngest UFC Champion ever after turning pro at only 19.

Barber has previously competed successfully in Dana White’s Contender series and for LFA, so she has a lot of experience despite being new to UFC. ‘The Future’ will be one to watch this year.

Max Rohskopf

A real unknown to most, Max Rohskopf (USA) is a welterweight fighter and is looking to make his start in UFC this year, building on his professional MMA record of 4-0.

Rohskopf has a strong NCAA wrestling background that has helped secure his 4 wins from submissions. His skills have made finding opponents difficult which explains why he’s only had a few professional bouts. But this young man is set to make a real impact in 2020 and is a star to look out for.
