Marc Diakiese signs new 4-fight deal with the UFC

English lightweight Marc Diakiese (12-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) today announced that he has signed a new four fight deal with the UFC.

The news comes a day after the promotion announced the unbeaten Doncaster based lightweights’ next fight. Diakiese will square of against the also undefeated, Drakkar Klose (7-0-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), at the ‘TUF Finale Redemption’ in the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, July 17.

The lightweight fighter announced the news on this week’s Talking Brawls podcast on Severe MMA. The contract will start after his upcoming fight against Klose.

“It’s a four fight deal” Diakiese explained to Niall McGrath.

It had been strongly rumoured that Marc Diakiese and Paul Felder would be matched after heated exchanges on social media. Diakiese explained that he wanted contractual and financial assurances from the promotion before agreeing to fight a higher ranked opponent.

The ATT fighter was going into the last fight on his contract before penning the new deal. He says he’ll be looking to throw down with the upper echelon of the division after he gets past Klose.

“I’m trying to look at the money side. If I’m going to fight someone like Paul Felder, I want it to be decent money. I’ll wait for my new deal. I got to get this out of the way. If the fight’s on the table, obviously it’s going to happen but I wanted to make sure I’m not fighting for pennies.

Diakiese is coming off a first round KO victory over Teemu Paackalen at UFC Fight Night London in February. MMA Lab’s Drakkar Klose is coming off a decision victory over Devin Powell at UFC Fight Night 103.

TUF Redemption Finale takes at the 3-Mobile Arena on International Fight Week in Las Vegas on 17th July 2017.
